SERIES OF CLASSES
SEASONAL YIN YOGA
Yin Yoga is a slow paced practice that focuses on holding each individual pose for long periods of time (2-5 minutes) helping the body to soften and relax in to each posture. One of the unique aspects of Yin yoga is its incorporation of the energetic lines of the body, known as 'meridians'. This is taken from principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and is similar to the concept of the 'nadis' from traditional yoga philosophy.
Yin yoga places an emphasis on the connective tissue (fascia), improving flexibility, boosting circulation, and reducing tension. It also helps to alleviate stress and restore energy levels by turning inward and cultivating stillness. Each class ends with a soothing yoga Nidra.
